Can a salesperson beat a Doctor?
...
Once again, I got injured in full-contact sparring.
There's only one name I trust when it comes to sports injuries, its ๐๐จ๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ง๐จ๐ฃ ๐๐, so I rush to him.
Doctor Manoj, asked numerous questions and checked by giving more pain from various angles, although he kept saying '๐๐จ๐ซ๐ซ๐ฒ' which always brings a smile amidst the pain.
He told that its a ligament tear which will take 15 days to recover. Asked Doctor Manoj. Sure, I said. Although, didn't have a choice but still it felt good to have been asked about it.
He prescribed the treatment and exercises for the next few days. While going out, I checked the amount at the reception which I duly paid.
It never came to my mind that I should ask for a discount as I believe Doctor Manoj is a true friend and advisor and asking for it will be insulting the friendship.
There's a sale that happened without discussing the cost.
The usual process would be to ask for a price, haggle a little with the physiotherapist and then get going. But not here.
Doctor Manoj is an advisor, a consultant. People trust him with his expertise as a true friend.
The best salespeople are never salespeople. I have always seen that they call themselves consultants and several such names and hardly ever discuss the cost. It is just a by-product and a disrespect of sorts.
To summarise, be it that Doctor, who is an advisor, that neighbourhood baker who asks about the occasions and taste to deliver the best cake and we never even bother to haggle on cost.
So Round 1 Salesman vs Doctor goes to Doctor. In my case, it is Doctor Manoj and Tina, who makes the best cakes ever.
How about you?
